Beer on Tap

  • Tap 01 - Avery Uncle Jacob's Imperial Stout

$8.95 - 10oz. Serving - SORRY NO GROWLER FILLS Annual Barrel Series Bourbon Barrel-Aged Stout Jacob Spears, our 6th Great Grand Uncle, is credited as the first distiller to label his whiskey “Bourbon.” He built his distillery in Bourbon County Kentucky in 1790 — 203 years before we began brewing. While obviously a bit too late to produce Uncle Jacob’s wash, we’ve instead created something far more complex. In his honor, we present this robust, silky smooth, full-bodied and altogether extremely American rendition of an Imperial Stout aged for 6 months in the very finest Bourbon barrels. This explains a lot about our penchant for big brews! It’s in our blood!

Serving - SORRY NO GROWLER FILLS Lizard of Koz an Imperial Stout Brewed with Blueberries, Chocolate and Vanilla aged in Bourbon Barrels 2016 Backstage Series Release: This one is near and dear to our hearts. Brewmaster Jeremy Kosmicki wanted to make the birthday of his little sister, Liz, a special one. So he did what he does best and brewed a stout using a few of her favorite ingredients: fresh Michigan blueberries, rich chocolate and vanilla aged in bourbon barrels to round out those beautiful flavors. Liz was floored and we think you will be too.

Serving - SORRY NO GROWLER FILLS Barrel-Aged Series Special Release: Frootwood Barrel Aged Cherry Ale in Maple Syrup Bourbon Barrels We took a crisp, light-bodied cherry ale and hid it away in oak barrels that have held both bourbon and maple syrup. After a lengthy stint, it emerged a changed beer, blanketed in notes of warm vanilla and earthy sweetness. The wood proves itself the star of this beer, adding depth and taming the tart cherry while the maple imposes a velvety texture.

Tap 06 - Cigar City Oatmeal Raisin Cookie Brown Ale

Seasonal Release - The genesis of the beer you’re holding in your hand was pretty simple.  We asked ourselves, “What if a beer tasted like an oatmeal raisin cookie?”  The answer to our rhetorical question was to add raisins, vanilla and cinnamon to Maduro, our English-style Brown Ale, a beer that showcases flavors of caramel, toffee and chocolate.  The combination of the base beer and the additional ingredients resulted in a beer that tastes like it was baked in Grandma’s oven.

The cherries get the better of the malt in the Kasteel Donker mother beer, although it contributes touches of chocolate and pepper to remind you it’s there. It is surprisingly easily digestible for quite a strong beer.

Ommegang brewmaster Phil Leinhart partnered with Belgian sister brewery, Liefmans - legendary brewers in the world of sour fruit beers - to create a truly unique blend for Ommegang and U.S. craft beer lovers. Pouring a mahogany-brown with a hint of red, Rosetta offers elegance, depth, complexity, and an intriguing interplay of tartness and sweetness. This is derived from Phil's perfectly balanced blend of Oud Bruin (a tart Flemish brown ale) with Cuvee Brut (a fruity and lively Kriek Beer.

Barrel-Aged Sour Ale - Originally brewed as a collaboration between Boulevard's Brewmaster Steven Pauwels and Side Project Brewing owner/brewer Cory King, Show Me Sour was inspired by their mutual admiration for low ABV, Belgian table beers. A touch of acidity, some dehusked black malts for a rich, dark color, plus a short time in whiskey barrels before being blended back with fresh beer, make for a unique and inviting beer that's our play on a whiskey sour.

Most breweries have at least one piece of equipment that’s just a bit persnickity. Here at Boulevard we have fermenter number seven, the black sheep of our cellar family. Ironically, when our brewers were experimenting with variations on a traditional Belgian-style farmhouse ale, the perfect combination of elements came together in that very vessel. You could call it fate, but they called it Tank 7, and so it is. Beginning with a big surge of fruity aromatics and grapefruit-hoppy notes, the flavor of this complex, straw-colored ale tapers off to a peppery, dry finish.

  • Tap 29 - Dogfish Head Burton Baton Oak Aged Imperial IPA

This oak-aged hybrid has been gaining popularity over the past few years and is now available year-round. For Burton Baton, we brew two "threads," or batches, of beer: an English-style old ale and an imperial IPA. After fermenting the beers separately in our stainless tanks, they're transferred and blended together in one of our large oak tanks. Burton Baton sits on the wood for about a month. When enjoying the Burton Baton, you'll find an awesome blend of the citrus notes from Northwestern hops melding with woody, vanilla notes from the oak. The wood also tends to mellow the 10% ABV of Burton, so tread cautiously!

Tap 54 - Cigar City Cestero Double IPA

Torcedores Series Special Release Sometimes even the most successful jai alai players need an equipment tune-up.  With the pelota reaching speeds of 130 miles per hour when it hits a player’s cesta, or hand-held wicker basket, their gear will be sent to a cestero or master cesta producer to be adjusted or patched.  The master Jai Alai producers at Cigar City Brewing have taken their iconic IPA recipe and punched it up with a higher ABV and an intense dry-hop regimen of Idaho 7, Amarillo, Pacifica, and Equinox hops to put a new spin on Jai Alai.  Here’s to masters of their art, be it making cestas or making brilliant hop-forward beers. Tangerine and candied orange aromas mingle with notes of pine notes on the nose of this deceivingly drinkable Double IPA. Flavors of hop resin, clementine and honeydew are supported by a pronounced caramel malt character and a spicy alcohol texture. Incredibly balanced and dangerously drinkable.
