The House of Brews is a local place where friends gather to enjoy a bite to eat, share great company and to truly experience specialty beers & boutique wines.
CHOCOLATE OAK AGED YETI IMPERIAL STOUT is another revered incarnation of our legendary imperial stout. We toned down the hops a bit to allow cocoa nibs to contribute some pleasing bitterness, while vanilla notes from the oak combine with the cocoa to create an aroma and flavor akin to a gourmet chocolate bar. A dash of cayenne keeps things lively, adding just a bit of heat to the finish. Another great Yeti? Hell yes.
Choklat Oranj is a stout brewed with chocolate and orange peels, opaque black in color, 10.0% abv, and a delicious dessert beer. Perfect alone, or enjoyed as a float. Scoop vanilla bean ice cream into a glass and top with Choklat Oranj. It’s impossible to be disappointed.
Imperial Stout Brewed With Salt and Caramel Salted Caramel is the newest in our highly regarded Blackwater Series. To say that it’s among good company would be an understatement. It joins the ranks of Warlock, Crème Brûlée, Choklat Oranj & Choklat, which have RateBeer scores of 96-100. We brewed Salted Caramel to pay tribute to one of our favorite sweets. In the same vein as salted caramel chocolates and truffles, our Salted Caramel stout is the perfect balance of sweet decadence and savory salt. Perfect alone, or enjoyed as a float.
Quiet and sensual like a moonlit night, this complex blend of toasted oats, roasted barley, chocolate wheat malt and dark roast coffee imparts an intense aroma and complex flavor profile. We brew a traditional English style oatmeal stout with a rich malt profile, then add locally roasted coffee while this ale is cold conditioned.
Rich enough to warm you up in winter, but smooth and refreshing enough to quench your thirst, Oats In Hose is our winter seasonal beer. This beer is a fun interpretation of a creamy oatmeal stout, and is reminiscent of your grandmother’s oatmeal cookies. The comfortable, but full mouthfeel comes from over 50 pounds of oats we use in the brewing process to balance out the roasted, smokiness of a traditional stout. Keep and serve cold as hail.
Using coffee beans hand-roasted at Motorworks Brewing, a darker roast on Sumatra beans imparts toasted flavors, while a slightly lighter roast on Sulawesi beans provides fruity undertones. Strong chocolate and coffee notes in its aroma and taste, derived from dark caramel and chocolate malts, and a slight sweet finish round out this medium-bodied porter.
Zombie Killer Cherry Cyser is made with Michigan tart cherry juice, apple cider and star thistle honey. It is sweet but balances nicely with the tart cherries. Be careful...it is extremely addicting and refreshing. Serve cold...Zombies hate the cold!
Our Ace Pineapple is another first [thirst] for the California Cider Company. We believe it to be the original pineapple cider made anywhere in the world! We add pineapple juices to our fermented apple base to produce a 5% ABV cider that has a great pineapple nose and a semi-sweet initial taste with a tart finish. It is extremely refreshing and very quaffable for cider, beer, or wine drinkers. It is delicious when consumed ice cold. We got the idea for the cider on one of our many visits to the beautiful and inspiring Hawaiian Islands. It’s the ideal tropical drink especially in hot and humid climates.
Stella Artois Cidre is a crisp and refreshing Belgian recipe cider crafted with handpicked apples*. The sophistication of Stella Artois Cidre is delivered by the full flavour of red apple, enhanced by peachy, apricot notes, complimented by the woody finish. Stella Artois Cidre is best enjoyed within the new curvaceous Cidre Chalice – designed to keep your Cidre cool and accentuate the sparkle of our Belgium recipe.
Aroma of fresh apple pie. Taste is just like an apple pie with cinnamon, pie crust and nutmeg. Gold pour, light head. Sweet and well balanced.
A hint of blueberry. Summer Time is the exact right time for sipping cider. Woodchuck Summer Time delivers a crisp apple cider topped off with a touch of blueberry juice. A cider crafted to be as refreshing as a summer day is long.
Naturally elegant and refreshingly adult with a sweet-sharp blackberry tang and mouthwatering juicy complexity, complemented by a luscious pear-berry bouquet. Naturally fermented using 100% pear juice, not from pear juice concentrate, or flavored hard apple cider. Filtered cold for extra purity, with no added colorants, sugar, sorbate or benzoate preservatives. No added malt, spirit, grape or apple alcohols.
Not another boring summer wheat beer or lemonade shandy—Rübæus is Founders’ way to celebrate the season’s warmest months. Optimizing the flavor of fresh raspberries added at multiple stages during fermentation, this stunning berry red masterpiece is the perfect balance of sweet and tart. No question about it, this beer is 100% Founders.
Kilkenny is similar to Smithwick's Draught; however, has less hop finish and it has a nitrogenated cream head similar to Guinness. The 'Kilkenny' name was originally used during the 1980s and 1990s to market a stronger version of Smithwick's for the European and Canadian market due to difficulty in pronunciation of the word 'Smithwick's'. It now refers to a similar yet distinct beer. Kilkenny was brewed in St. Francis Abbey Brewery in Kilkenny which was the oldest operating brewery in Ireland until its closure in 2013. It is now brewed at St. James's Gate brewery, Dublin. It is served in similar manner to Guinness; fully risen with a head of 3/4 to 1" approx. The ingredients are water, malted barley, roasted malted barley, hops, and yeast.
Double Milk Stout "2 varieties of hops & 3 types of malts" Milk stout, also called ‘cream’ or ‘sweet’ stout, is a stout containing lactose, a sugar derived from milk. Because lactose is unfermentable by beer yeast, it adds sweetness and body to the finished beer. Milk stouts have been claimed to be nutritious, and were marketed as such in the early 1900s with claims that would make the FDA wince. One ad read, “Ideal for nursing mothers, for the healthy, for the invalid, and for the worker.” Surely! Of course, we couldn’t stop at a traditional milk stout. Ours is a double, an addition to our 2X line, and at 7.5% abv is every bit as delicious as it sounds. To your health!
Black in color, Café Con Leche is a Milk Stout infused with Cuban Espresso. Café con leche literally translates to “coffee with milk” and it is a bold coffee roast blend with scalded milk at a ratio of 1:1. This beer emulates a traditional cup of local culture. It has an enticing coffee aroma and flavor with nuances of condensed milk and light vanilla notes. This milk stout blends roasted barley with the bold taste of Cuban espresso beans and a rounding sweetness from the use of lactose, a non-fermentable milk sugar, which adds scalded condensed milk notes and lends a full silkiness to the mouthfeel of the beer.

Inspired by great Trappist ales, our complex Belgian Style Pale Ale is fermented with the wild yeast Brettanomyces. Matilda pours a golden sunrise color with dried fruit and clove aromas, a spicy yeast flavor, and a satisfying dry finish. According to legend, a grateful Countess Matilda founded a monastery where, over centuries, monks have been brewing ale unique in character. While in Belgium, we were inspired by the story and the monks’ beer. We returned to Chicago and brewed our homage – a Belgian Style Pale Ale named Matilda.
A magical, mystical Monkey whose golden soul glows with the wisdom of the ages. This warming, flavored ale is rich in the spirited tradition of Belgian-inspired brewing. Our Golden Monkey is both playfully delightful and profoundly satisfying. Exotic spices from the East round out this global journey to joy. Get on board. This Monkey’s bound for glory! Strong and sensual, this golden Belgian-style ale glows with goodness. The richness of imported malts and Belgian yeast are tempered by a sparkling approach and overall light body. Considerable depth of character with abundant, herbal, fruity notes make this one to savor.
Colour and sight: Dark brown-red. A compact white-yellow, stable and lacing head. Scent: Touches of caramel, mocha and chocolate. Spices such as liquorice and coriander are also present. Flavour: Initially, a very good mouthfeel of alcohol and softness. This is followed by an increasing bitterness, partially from the hop, but also from the roasted malt and chocolate malt. Towards the end a nice balance between bitterness, sour and sweet
Brewed in celebration of Uinta Brewing's 23rd Anniversary, this American Sour Ale bares a lambic malt base and Belgian yeast character. Raspberries intermingle adding sweet fruit aroma and au-naturale earthiness to this frisky, tart birthday ale.
Smokestack Series Release Deriving its name from Edgar Allan Poe's classic tale of madness and murder, our newest Smokestack Series release takes a predictably lighthearted approach to the subject of sourness. The subtle acidity of Tell-Tale Tart is answered by a soft, biscuity malt character, making this a sour ale that suggests, rather than announcing its tartness. Beginning with a bracing sharpness at first sip, the ale mellows on the palate to a smooth and faintly lingering finish.
Venture into the shadows of our brewers’ minds and discover their mad genius. From this unknown emerges Project PAM. In development for years under a shroud of secrecy, this Black IPA is brewed with a cornucopia of hops then aged in maple syrup bourbon barrels to add complex oaky bourbon notes and the sweetness of maple syrup to keep the bitterness in check. Like its creator, the origins of its name will forever remain a mystery. Project PAM clocks in at 10.8% ABV.
This oak-aged hybrid has been gaining popularity over the past few years and is now available year-round. For Burton Baton, we brew two "threads," or batches, of beer: an English-style old ale and an imperial IPA. After fermenting the beers separately in our stainless tanks, they're transferred and blended together in one of our large oak tanks. Burton Baton sits on the wood for about a month. When enjoying the Burton Baton, you'll find an awesome blend of the citrus notes from Northwestern hops melding with woody, vanilla notes from the oak. The wood also tends to mellow the 10% ABV of Burton, so tread cautiously!
Squall IPA is a continually hopped, unfiltered Double IPA that’s brewed with three types of malt as well as dry-hopped with Simcoe, Amarillo and Palisade hops. Clocking in at 9% ABV, this citrus-forward IPA has a hoppy aroma with floral notes of pine and grapefruit.

2016 Stone Old Guardian Barley Wine Dry-Hopped with Pekko Hops From time to time, we like to tweak the recipes of some of our most long-standing beers—like Stone Old Guardian Barley Wine—to create unique variations. This year we’re taking it to the next level by dry-hopping it with Pekko hops—a new varietal from Washington’s Yakima Valley—which in turn add notes of stone fruit, orange, lemon and mint to this bready, toffee-like beast of a beer.
This is our firstborn brew, whose accidental discovery started our story in 2003. Its originality also lies in its singular taste – notes of biscuity malt and vanilla swirling within a creamy, mellow character. A pioneering beer, its flavour finds favour with brewing juries, blind tasting panels and barflies alike.
Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale. With a little creative curiosity, we used spent bourbon casks, fresh from decanting, and filled them with our very own Kentucky Ale. From barrels that once held the finest bourbons of Kentucky, we present Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale, a smooth, golden elixir unlike any other. Subtle yet familiar flavors of vanilla and oak are imparted to this special ale as it rests in the charred barrel. We attribute this to what the bourbon maker calls the “angel’s share”. Elegantly smooth and modestly carbonated, Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale is a fine sipping ale with the distinctive nose of a well-crafted Kentucky bourbon.
Kasteel Rouge is a unique blend of Kasteel Donker and a sweet cherry liqueur. This fruity beer makes a great aperitif on a sunny terrace. It’s certainly a beer for lovers of sweet cherries with an overpowering aroma of the fruit. The cherries get the better of the malt in the Kasteel Donker mother beer, although it contributes touches of chocolate and pepper to remind you it’s there. It is surprisingly easily digestible for quite a strong beer.
St-Louis Premium Framboise is a frambozenbier, or raspberry beer, based on a lambic. St-Louis Premium Framboise contains 25% juice from Willamette raspberries with their pure, natural sugars. It is a thirst-quencher with a low alcohol content. It’s a very fruity beer with a beautiful balance between the sweet taste of the raspberries and the slightly sour taste of the lambic.
DEVIOUSLY CRAFTY This ain't your grandma's fizzy blueberry lager. Blueberry Cobbler is a copiously blueberried glass of goodness with real cinnamon and vanilla added. It's purple, not because we add coloring, but because we use natural blueberries. So go ahead and sneak a slice. We won't tell.
Classic German Kolsch. Delicately balanced golden ale brewed with German Noble hops.
With a subtle hop bitterness and clean finish, Helicity Pilsner is a well-balanced lager that everyone can love — just like the air after a summer rain. Keep and serve cold as hail.
Reddish brown in color with a mild hop profile, Consecrator Doppelbock is a well balanced, full bodied lager with hints of caramel and molasses in its smooth, malty finish. As with our other lager brands, Consecrator undergoes a lengthy lagering period. Unlike the 6 week profile of the other two brands, Consecrator experiences a full three months in the fermenting vessel, giving it an exceptionally smooth character.
Hefeweissbier Our golden-yellow wheat beer, with its fine-poured white foam, smells of cloves and impresses consumers with its refreshing banana flavour. It is full bodied and with a smooth yeast taste. To be enjoyed at any time. Brewed according to our centuries-old brewing tradition on the Weihenstephan hill.
A perfectly crafted American Wheat Ale, that gives your fun in the sun day and everyday the drinkability it's always needed. The American hop varieties will impart a mild spice note and a subtle island citrus character.
SweetWater 420 Extra Pale Ale, our most popular brew, is a tasty West Coast Style Pale Ale with a stimulating hop character and a crisp finish. 1st brewed on April 20th 1997.
Green Line Pale Ale is a honey-colored, immensely sessionable American pale ale with a pronounced, bright, American hop aroma and citrus flavor. Notes of biscuit and lightly toasted malt create the backbone for Green Line’s pleasant, crisp bitterness.
Our India Pale Ale recalls a time when ales shipped from England to India were highly hopped to preserve their distinct taste during the long journey. The result is a hop lover’s dream with a fruity aroma, set off by a dry malt middle, and long hop finish.
This American IPA is filtered and bittered with high alpha hops from the Pacific Northwest. The color is sunset orange and hazy with floral & herbal aroma. Grapefruit and orange on the palate, while also exhibiting some pineyness. Drying in the finish but supported with pale malt and a medium body.
An Arcus is a low, horizontal cloud formation associated with a storm front. With the same gust provided by its name sake, our IPA rolls in with an intense citrusy hop aroma, and is brewed with two-row American pale ale malts. The addition of locally sourced wildflower honey lends a subtle sweetness for a clean and easy finish to our Arcus IPA. Keep and serve cold as hail.
2016 Beer Camp Across America Collaboration with Bale Breaker, Barley Brown’s, Black Raven, Melvin, and Odell. The city of Moxee, WA, is in the heart of the Yakima Valley hop growing region and this Imperial Session IPA—a style contradiction—honors the Pacific Northwest’s hop-bomb heritage. Moxee-Moron features hops in the mash, the kettle, the Hop Torpedo, and the fermenter for ultra-complex hop aromas and flavors in an ironically named package. Brewed with Simcoe, Mosaic, Citra, and experimental hops.
Devastatingly Independent Our all-important, hop-driven quest to deliver the most devastatingly fresh IPA on the planet facilitated a paradigm shift in 2012 with the launch of Stone Enjoy By IPA. Not only did we brew this beer with more than 10 different hops, we brewed it specifically NOT to last. Acclaimed for its groundbreakingly short shelf life, this intense double IPA brought forth a whole new concept of what constitutes “fresh”—guaranteeing fans the ultimate level of hoppiness. The devastatingly independent batch you have in your hands is no different. It, like its predecessors before, is a celebration and declaration of the fresh beer. Hop Varieties: Nugget, Super Galena, Simcoe, Delta, Target, Amarillo, Cascade, Galaxy, Citra, Nelson Sauvin, Motueka & Helga
A style-defying double IPA with cacao & coffee. Clearly, style lines have been crossed. Is it half-IPA, half-stout? Not quite. It’s definitely all IPA, but it’s also the best of both styles, making this love child of a beer simply just a beautiful, pleasure-seeking meld of imperial IPA and mocha indulgence. How did we come up with this inexplicably delicious creation? Well, that doesn’t really matter. What matters is that it exists and that it’s here for you now, thanks to our deliberate disregard for brewing norms. Some things are not meant to be known, just enjoyed...thoroughly.
A vibrant hop-bursted session IPA. Since Day One, we've been abundantly forthright and fully transparent about our lust for hops. It's led us to craft many an IPA, most of them imperial—some intense for their time and all timeless in their intensity. For Stone Go To IPA, we embrace our hop obsession in a new way, funneling an abundance of lupulin-borne bitterness into a session IPA that delivers all the fruity, piney character of a much bigger IPA. To accomplish this, we employ hop bursting, a technique wherein an irrational amount of hops is added during the final phase of the brewing process to bring out extreme flavors and aromas while also imparting a burst of desirably pleasant bitterness. The result is an alpha-acid-rich beer that fans can enjoy more of without missing out on the assertive hop character you, like us, crave.
Our popular IPA, with a punch of heat. Our Sculpin IPA with Habanero Pepper began as a crazy experiment that’s taken on a life of its own. While its bright fruit notes and hoppy bite has made the original one of our favorites, this version takes that balance of flavors to the next level with the citrusy, floral heat of habaneros. Sculpin are known to sting, but this one’s got a kick.
“Double IPA brewed with Tangerine Peels” A Double India Pale Ale with spicy citrus aromas and stone fruit flavors. These flavors, with the addition of lightly roasted malts and brilliant hop bitterness, make 2XTangier a beverage as refreshing as it is exotic. 2XTangier is brewed as a stronger, bolder ale than its older brother, Tangier. It shares the same synergy between tangerine peel and spicy, citrusy, Mosaic hops. Enjoy 2XTangier in celebration of your epic adventure.
Inspired by Paul Revere’s midnight ride, we rebelled against the British style IPA, embraced the more aggressive American version and then recast it in bold, brave, defiant black. Our Black IPA is a Declaration of Independence from the tyranny of the expected.
Serious hop bitterness, along with an unyielding grapefruit bouquet from the Amarillo dry hop, balances the malty richness of four varieties of imported Belgian caramel malts. Pours a spectacular crimson with a creamy tan head. A generous addition of rye malt accentuates a spicy, crisp finish.
Get ready to bask in the glory of the frothy head’s floral bouquet. Relish the citrus accents from the abundance of dry hopping. This one’s sweet, yet balanced. Malty undertones shake hands with the hop character for a finish that never turns too bitter.
This bold, imperial brown ale gets its body from a team of malts including Caramel malt for sweetness, flaked barley for dense foam, a bit of Chocolate malt for its deep color and Aromatic and Munich malts to add even more depth. German and Perle hops add a touch of bitterness to balance the malty sweetness. The addition of rich Sumatra coffee takes this perfectly balanced imperial brown ale to a decadent level.

2016 Beer Camp Across America Collaboration with Austin Beerworks, Bayou Teche, Creature Comforts, Funky Buddha, and Wicked Weed The south holds strong to its traditional flavors--tea, honey-sweet peaches, and corn grits--so we looked at those culinary cues for this southern-inspired table beer. With a golden grainy malt body and complex tangy finish from the fruit, tea, and herbs, Sweet Sunny South is perfect for sultry summer sipping.
Mango Magnifico is a high-gravity fruit beer brewed with mango and a touch of habaneros to add just the right amount of heat. The delicate flavors imparted by the sweet richness of the mango are punctuated perfectly by the subtle heat of the habaneros, proving that fruit beers do not have to be one-note. Each pour of this 10% ABV ale is both sophisticated and refreshing, making it the perfect beer to share… or to keep all to yourself.
Appearance: Brilliant, golden color with a light fluffy head. Aroma: Hints of sweet coconut, vanilla and caramel. Overall: Delicious sessionable beer with a nice balance between coconut and caramel sweetness.
This dark golden coloured ale hugs the palate with great intensity. Its malty aroma is complemented by the gentle nose of Banana. Its flavour unfolds with a sensual sparkle and a smart crispness, which balances its aroma perfectly. Tropically fruity; its ripe banana flavour, emphasised by a hint of bitterness, comes from the addition of real fair trade bananas and finishes with an emphatic, steely dryness.
Schöfferhofer Grapefruit is German ingenuity at its freshest. Sparkling smooth Schöfferhofer Hefeweizen beer mixed with grapefruit juice. A new taste sensation bundled with lots of flavor and fun. Crisp weiss beer with natural lemonade flavor. Our own unique take on Franz Kugler’s original Munich tavern tradition. Leinenkugel’s Summer Shandy is our traditional weiss beer with refreshing natural lemonade flavor that makes it the perfect summer beer. As we like to say, it’s fresh-squeezed Wisconsin-brewed beer.
Our unique contribution to the fruit ale category features the nutty quench of wheat ale combined with the delightful aromatics and subtle fruit flavor contributed by Maine wild blueberries.
Our newest Brewer’s Pride craft brew is now in season. Made with fresh, homegrown strawberries from Poteet, Texas, Strawberry Blonde combines pale and wheat malts for a refreshing taste and smooth finish. Summer just got sweeter.
When poured from the tap, the Coffee Blonde Ale has a deep gold color and thin, white head. The first thing you smell is a combination of richly roasted coffee followed by the slightest fragrance of hops.
Our Caramel Cream Ale was developed to showcase the wonderful caramel notes in dark crystal malts. In addition to the malt complexity and creamy mouthfeel, this beer finishes with a hint of vanilla. There are no substitutes for this very special American Ale. Interesting Fact: The unforgettable flavor of this beer is the result of 100′s of test brews to refine the recipe and method. Head brewer and brewery owner, Mike Halker, brewed this beer for his wife Jodi who, for 2 years, kept saying “almost” until he worked his magic and made it the beer it is today.
A masterful brew of natural ginger and lime flavors in a low alcohol malt beverage. Cool lime, piquant ginger and a dry finish give Sprecher’s Hard Ginger Beer (4.7% abv) a crisp, refreshing drinkability that is perfect on its own.
